Creating the PIGEON Standard
Peristaltic Nipple

Breastfeeding is most natural and ideal way to feed your baby. However, sometimes breastfeeding may be difficult for various reasons, and bottle feeding becomes the next option. In this case, it is best for babies to continue the natural suckling that breastfeeding offers. Therefore, when combining bottle-feeding with breastfeeding, as far as possible, it is ideal to use a bottle with a nipple for feeding that closely resembles that of breastfeeding.

PIGEON Peristaltic Nipple was designed based on advanced nursing research and study to provide the best for mothers and babies. Now PIGEON has extended its Peristaltic Nipple series with the addition of medium (M) and large (L) sizes to meet the myriad of needs of mothers and babies.

Nipple Features

Super-Stretchable
Teat section has an "accordion-like" portion that enables it to stretch in response to the peristaltic movement of the baby's tongue. At PIGEON, we believe that stretchability is the most important function of an artificial nipple in encouraging baby's natural suckling motion.

Ultra-Soft Silicone
The nipple's surface is very soft, yet it does not collapse easily. Made from thick ultra-soft silicone material, the nipple has similar elasticity to that of a mother's actual breast. The dome-like shape makes baby's mouth open naturally, and supports its mouth softly and fitting its lips gently.

By adding M and L sizes to the PIGEON Peristaltic Nipple product range, the softness of each nipple is approximately controlled to ensure the best performance at each developmental phase of your baby. Similarly, different hardness of silicone material is matched accordingly to the size of the nipple. Therefore, each size of nipple is appropriately shaped with the softness of the material.

Peristaltic Nipple
Ever wondered how babies suck? Sucking hollow on the upper jaw to receive the nipple, a baby uses his tongue to make and send pulsating movements from the front of the tongue to the back. This set of movement is known as the peristaltic movement.

Peristaltic motion is the smooth wave-like motion of a baby's tongue. A baby moves its tongue like a wave, rolling it front to back to draw milk (see Figures 1 to 4). The movement is encouraged as it is integral for the development of baby's jaw.

AVS Air Ventilation System
Peristaltic Nipple ensures minimum air intake smoothly into baby's stomach during feeding.
